Two-factor authentication using the SwissID App is not working. What should I do?

If you don’t receive a login request on your mobile phone when using SwissID to log in, please check the following points:

  • Your mobile phone is connected to Wi-Fi or your mobile network.
  • You have logged in with your existing SwissID account or created a new SwissID account in the SwissID App.
  • The email address displayed in the SwissID App matches the email address you would like to log in with.

  • The ‘Energy saving mode’ and ‘Battery optimisation’ options are not enabled for the SwissID App in your mobile phone’s settings.

If the problem persists, please disable two-factor authentication in your SwissID account at swissid.ch and set it up again. Alternatively, you can log in with the code you receive by text message instead.

I no longer want to use the SwissID App for two-factor authentication. What should I do?

If you no longer want to use two-factor authentication with the SwissID, you must disable this option in your SwissID account at swissid.ch. Uninstalling the SwissID App is not enough. The other two-factor authentication features will still be available to you afterwards.

I want to delete the SwissID App from my mobile phone. How do I do that? And can I enable it again later on?

If you use the SwissID Sign service for electronic signatures, you’ll need to revoke your certificate before deleting the app. You can do this in your SwissID account at login.swissid.ch in the ‘Signature service’ menu. A new certificate will be issued if you install and set up the app again afterwards.
