SwissID App
Our SwissID App is saying goodbye – but all services will remain available
Following an intensive period packed with exciting developments, a great deal of commitment and many loyal users, the SwissID App will be discontinued 1 October 2025.
This will not be a farewell to the service, but a step towards a new, future-proof infrastructure. We have rethought, improved and integrated our features where they fit best long term when it comes to user-friendliness and security.
Some things are changing – but all the important things will remain the same.

Online identification can easily be carried out web-based on a mobile phone. A separate app is no longer required. Simply log in to your SwissID account and start the process under ‘My verified identity’.

As an alternative to the SwissID App, passkeys are now available for two-factor authentication. This globally recognised standard is significantly more convenient and safer.

Our in-app services such as ordering debt collection register extracts or taking out cyber insurance are still available and can be obtained directly from the relevant pages.

For security reasons, signature confirmation will remain tied to a device – now via the SwissSign Wallet. Signature customers will automatically be taken to the new wallet as part of the signature process.
