I want to download the SwissID App from the App Store or Google Play Store, but I can’t find it. Why?
The operation of the SwissID App was officially discontinued end of October 2025. For this reason, new users can no longer download the SwissID App. However, all features remain available.
Two-factor authentication with the SwissID App is not working. Why?
Due to the discontinuation of the SwissID App (see above), two-factor authentication via the app is no longer available for existing users. As an alternative, passkeys are now offered. This globally recognized standard is much simpler and more secure.
I no longer receive push notifications via the SwissID App when a new signature document becomes available. Why?
Due to the discontinuation of the SwissID App, push notifications are no longer available via the app. However, you will continue to receive convenient email notifications whenever a new document is ready for signature, ensuring that you stay fully informed and can access your documents without any interruption.
I used to sign all my documents via the SwissID App which is no longer available. What should I do?
The signature service has been completely redesigned and is now available as an even more convenient web-based solution also on your smartphone browser, simply log in to the signature service via sign.swissid.ch.

I need to verify my identity. How does that work without the SwissID App
Online identification can easily be carried out web-based on a mobile phone. A separate app is no longer required. Simply log in to your SwissID account and start the process under ‘My verified identity’.
