SwissSign awarded contract by the Canton of Aargau for a canton-wide e-signature solution
SwissSign has been commissioned by the Canton of Aargau to provide a central solution for electronic signatures and additional trust services.
The procurement was carried out within the joint framework conditions defined by eOperations Switzerland, enabling organisations such as the Canton of Aargau to benefit from attractive terms. With this, the Canton of Aargau is establishing an important foundation for a modern, secure and efficient digital administration that will benefit municipalities and their departments.
The solution provided by SwissSign supports public administrations in handling their processes digitally and in full legal compliance. In the future, official rulings or administrative notices can be issued with an electronic seal that guarantees the authenticity and integrity of the document. Contracts or agreements can be signed with a qualified electronic signature, easily and directly in the browser. Digital timestamps also play a key role: they make it possible to securely prove the exact creation or receipt date of a document, for example in the context of digital mailboxes or electronic archiving. This not only streamlines processes and reduces paper usage, but also increases transparency and trustworthiness – fully in line with the principles of a modern, service-oriented administration.
The decision by the Canton of Aargau highlights the central role that digital trust services play in public administration: they provide the technical and legal foundation needed to offer residents secure and user-friendly online services.
As a federally recognised Trust Service Provider operating its infrastructure entirely in Switzerland, SwissSign stands for the highest level of data security and regulatory compliance. Together with the Canton of Aargau, SwissSign is helping to further advance the digital transformation of public administration.
